200 Sabre customers deploy Aviva’s secure host access and integration solutions to over 100,000 workstations

Montreal, Canada, June 3, 2002 Aviva, a worldwide provider of secure host access and application integration software solutions, today announced that its Aviva for Desktops™ software has been selected by Sabre to automate and streamline the Sabre® Qik™ business processing solutions, the preferred real-time interface solution for multiple host reservations systems within the global travel and transportation industry.

The partnership allows users of Qik solutions to easily and quickly tap into legacy data from various systems and have it presented in a user-friendly interface. Sabre customers, including major international airlines, now have integrated access to multiple host systems using Aviva for Desktops software. Reservation systems, frequent flyer programs and e-mail servers are now integrated and easily accessible.

The selection by Sabre of Aviva’ technology was simplified by the availability of Aviva’s unique offering: Aviva Enterprise License (AEL). This allows Sabre to select any of Aviva’s traditional host access products, including Aviva for Desktops and Aviva for Java™ for its 200 clients who use 100,000 workstations. Aviva products were selected by Sabre for their 100 per cent Java support, ease of integration with existing systems, and for the flexibility of the AEL offering. Aviva’s technology was integrated easily with the Qik solutions, allowing the implementation process to be reduced from eight weeks to three weeks. By automating the process, Sabre customers are able to reduce potential manual errors when transferring data from multiple host systems.
