Aviva Announces Compatibility with Windows XP

Aviva for Desktops V9.0 now XP Compatible

Montreal, Canada, March 18, 2002 — Aviva, a worldwide provider of secure host access and application integration software solutions, today announced that Aviva for Desktops™ V9.0 has received Compatible with Windows® XP designation in accordance with Microsoft® standards.

With Windows XP compatibility, Aviva for Desktops extends reliable host connectivity to PC desktops running Windows XP without compromise to application or operating system stability. Aviva’s Windows XP compatibility status comes in quick succession to Aviva for Desktops’ support of Microsoft Windows XP announced in January 2002.

“At Aviva, we are focused on providing our customers with secure host connectivity for the operating environments integral to their business infrastructure,” said Larry Curran, President and CEO of Aviva. “The validation of Compatibility with Windows XP further demonstrates our commitment to providing host access software for all technology environments, without compromising the availability of customers’ mission critical information.”

The basic functionality of Aviva for Desktops on computers running Windows XP Home Edition or Windows XP Professional is the same as that provided on previously supported versions of Windows, maintaining the stability customers have come to expect from Aviva’s software.

About Aviva for Desktops
Aviva for Desktops is a full-function SNA and TN connectivity desktop solution that provides multi-host access (IBM mainframes and AS/400s, DEC, Linux and UNIX hosts) over SNA and IP networks, for Windows 9x, NT, 2000 and XP. Aviva for Desktops is designed to enable MIS managers to roll out PC-to-host connectivity across their enterprise, with a minimum investment in time and resources. Deployed using Microsoft's System Management Server (SMS), Aviva for Desktops features drag-and-drop host file transfer, visual keyboard and color mapping, VBA-compatible macro language and ActiveX support. The software also includes a rich set of connectivity, user productivity and automation features, and is now available with strong encryption and 56-bit encryption. These encryption options support standard client and server certificates as well as standard cryptography algorithms to secure all host connections.
