Aviva Secures Corporate Host-Based Data through Newest Release of Aviva for Desktops

Full-function host connectivity solution for Windows platform now available with 168-bit and 56-bit encryption, providing secure host access over the intranet and the Internet.

MONTREAL, April 30, 2001 — Aviva Inc., a worldwide provider of secure host access solutions, today announced the integration of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) security in its latest release of Aviva for Desktops, making it the most secure and comprehensive terminal emulation software for enterprises with multi-host access requirements.

Aviva for Desktops 9.00, Aviva's full-function SNA and TN connectivity desktop solution, now ensures privacy and integrity of confidential or sensitive host-based information by authenticating both user and server using digital certificates. Communication to the host is encrypted using public and symmetric key cryptography. By providing 3 flavors of Aviva for Desktops - regular, 168-bit and 56-bit encryption - corporations have the flexibility of choice in selecting the level of security they require for their intranet/Internet-based host access. This results in unparalleled, secure multi-host access (IBM mainframes and AS/400s, DEC and Unix hosts) over SNA and IP networks for their Windows 9x, NT and 2000 environments.
