SAN FRANCISCO, Windows 2000 Conference & Expo (Booth #332), February
17, 2000 — Eicon Technology (TSE: EIC), a global leader in remote
access solutions, today announced that users of Microsoft® Windows®
2000 Professional or Windows 2000 Server platforms can immediately
take advantage of the benefits of Eicon’s Aviva family of host access
products. Ranging from terminal emulation desktop products to browser-based
host publishing tools, Eicon’s Aviva family helps corporations find
new ways to exploit the power of their host-based information and
automate their business logic with unparalleled flexibility, scalability
and stability.
"The Aviva family line of host access products maximizes the Windows
2000 platform to satisfy the business Internet imperative. Our customers
can upgrade their desktops in total confidence, knowing that there
are no compatibility issues," said Ken Gingrich, Eicon’s Executive
Vice President, Sales and Marketing. "With the business Internet
upon us, Eicon maintains its commitment to supporting technology
leaders such as Microsoft, providing our customers with a reliable
and secure platform on which to grow their e-business and e-commerce
initiatives."
Earlier this month, Eicon released the latest version of its Aviva
Web-to-Host Server 8.20 e-commerce/host publishing tool that Web-enables
existing IBM mainframe and AS/400 applications so that information
can be extended via the Internet or intranet, to a growing user
base. Aviva Web-to-Host Server is ‘Windows 2000 Ready,’ and is tightly
integrated with Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) and
Active Server Pages (ASP) technology to provide powerful tools to
create e-commerce applications. Aviva Web-to-Host Server, in combination
with Windows 2000, offers corporations a proven, risk-free way to
exploit the booming world of the business Internet.
"E-business, e-commerce and the Internet have opened up a new
paradigm for business and personal communications. With the growth
of portals and the need to integrate business applications from
multiple, dispersed host systems, the Aviva family provides our
customers with the solutions they require to bring their host-based
information to the Web," said Maks Wulkan, Executive Vice President,
Eicon Technology. "Aviva customers know they are profiting from
an exceptional host connectivity engine that provides them with
the technological and financial gains they not only require, but
demand."
The Aviva family will be showcased in Eicon’s booth (#332) at the
Windows 2000 Conference & Expo in San Francisco, February 15-17,
