Aviva Solutions Releases Version 4.0 of Aviva® for Java™
Powerful Macro support and out-of-the-box capability of running as an
application saves time and increase productivity
Montreal, Canada, January 30, 2004 Aviva Inc., a worldwide provider of secure host access and integration solutions, today announced the release of Aviva® for Java™ V4.0, an enhanced Java-based terminal emulation program that provides secure multi-host access from any computer with a Java-enabled Web browser.
This new release of Aviva® for Java™ features a broader range of display font selections, expanded support for Sun Java Plug-in, a brand new user interface and significant usability enhancements, including:
A powerful macro system - allows automation of user actions in
display sessions. Using the popular JavaScript language, macros can be
easily recorded, modified or written from scratch. For example, users
can easily relieve themselves from the tedious and repetitive routine
work by associating the macros with a key combination or automatically
at session startup.
Running as an application - besides the traditional operation as
a Java applet, Aviva® for Java™ now runs as a Java application. Once started
via a Web browser, the application runs independently from the browser.
The user can then either close the browser or use it for Web surfing without
affecting the host access operation. Launching the application via a Web
page preserves the benefits of both auto-upgrade and central configuration.
Printer Association - Aviva® for Java™ now supports the TN3270
printer associate feature. The printer session is activated automatically
when the display session is activated.
In addition, Aviva® Host Integration Software Developer Kit™ (SDK), which includes powerful APIs and easy-to-use code generation tools, has been added to this release of Aviva® for Java™. With the Aviva® Host Integration SDK™, users will be able to quickly and seamlessly integrate legacy information into new Web services, J2EE and portal applications.
"We are proud and excited about the extra flexibility and usability that Aviva® for Java™ V4.0 provides to our customers." said Eugene Aresteanu, Senior Software Architect of Aviva Solutions. "Every step we take serves the objective of making the host access and legacy integration easier, faster and simpler."
Aviva® for Java™ V4.0 is immediately available. A full-functional demo version is available for download from Aviva Free Demos
