Aviva Announces Support for Windows XP
Company announces its support of Microsoft Windows XP operating system with Aviva for Desktops V9.0
Montreal, Canada, January 22, 2002 — Aviva® Solutions
Inc.-a worldwide provider of secure host access and application
integration solutions-today announced that its Aviva for Desktops
V9.0 now supports the Microsoft® Windows® XP desktop operating
system. Aviva for Desktops is a host access 3270/5250/VT220 emulator,
providing complete host connectivity over SNA and IP networks for
all Microsoft supported Windows® operating systems.
"For over a decade, Aviva has been committed to
providing customers with host connectivity solutions that enable
them to leverage their existing IT investments while taking advantage
of the latest in operating system technology," said Larry Curran,
President and CEO of Aviva. "Today, we affirm and
extend this commitment by announcing our support for Microsoft's
Windows XP operating system. As with previous Microsoft Windows
operating system introductions, our customers can be assured of
the continued stability and performance of our software, as well
as our support in helping them take advantage of Windows XP's new
capabilities."
Customers using Aviva for Desktops for terminal emulation or for
application development can continue to use the product with the
Windows XP operating system while ensuring consistent compatibility
and integration. Whether customers use Aviva for Desktops as an
emulator or within customized applications, they can easily migrate
their applications to Windows XP and be confident that they will
continue to work on this new operating system as well.
Aviva plans to progressively seek the "Compatible
with Windows XP" designation in the beginning of 2002 and the
"Designed for Windows XP" logo by the end of 2002. The
"Compatible with Windows XP" designation will validate
that the Aviva for Desktops product is compatible with the Windows
XP operating system and does not compromise application stability.
The "Designed for Windows XP" logo will confirm the product's
integration and conformity with the XP graphical interface for customers
using Aviva for Desktops within a Windows XP operating environment.
