Aviva Offers Free Java-Based, Web-to-host Competitive Upgrade

Special offer enables companies to cost-effectively migrate from traditional host access to Aviva'ss Web-to-host solution with zero end-user deployment and central configuration/management.

MONTREAL, October 15, 2001 — Aviva Inc., a leading worldwide provider of innovative and secure host access and Web-to-host software solutions-today announced that Aviva for Java V3.10 will be offered free of charge to replace competitive products with the purchase of a 2-year Aviva for Java maintenance agreement covering 500 or more seats. This promotion is aimed at companies who wish to migrate from traditional host access to a Web-to-host solution. To facilitate the migration, companies purchasing an Aviva for Java maintenance agreement for more than 10,000 seats will also receive free migration consulting services. This free Aviva for Java offer expires March 31st, 2002.

• Re-deploy new workstations, or upgrade users' desktops to a new operating system without requiring the installation of additional software on each PC - only the browser is needed.
• Provide remote users with highly secure remote access-using SSL security options-to host information through an applet that is automatically downloaded to users' PCs via their Web browser.
• Develop client browser-based productivity applets to simplify host applications without requiring installation on individual user desktops. Application updates are made to the central version on the Web server providing users with automatic access to the most recent applications via their Web browser.

Aviva offers three maintenance plans: Maintenance Plus, Premium, and Platinum. This promotion is valid with the purchase of one of these three plans.
